What is the typical weather?
Please visit www.weather.com for up-to-date weather forecasts in Huntington Beach. Early fall in the area is beautiful, with highs in the high 70’s and lows in the mid- 50’s. Recommended attire is resort casual. 

 

What is covered by Mazda for this program?
As a competitor your flight, airport transportation, hotel room and tax will be covered for you and a guest. In addition, Mazda will be covering all meals through competition day, and some meals the weekend following.

 

Will I have Internet and email access?
Yes, wifi will be available for attendees.

 

What is the time zone?
Huntington Beach, CA is in the Pacific Time Zone (PT).

 

What time is check-in and check-out at the Kimpton Shorebreak?
We will do our best to ensure your room is ready upon arrival at the hotel, check-in is at 4 p.m. and check out is at 12:00 p.m. Should you need a late check-out time, please visit the Hospitality Suite when you arrive to accommodate this request.

What is the dress code?

  • The dress code for the Welcome Reception and all tours is casual (jeans with no holes are acceptable). 
  • Dress code for the Award Ceremony and Dinner is Business Casual. Business Casual is defined as dress pants and a button down shirt. No jacket or tie is required.
  • Dress code for all other events is casual (shorts are acceptable).
  • Mazda branded competition shirts will be provided to all competitors upon arrival. These will be ordered according to the sizing provided during registration. Long work pants and closed-toed shoes are required for Competition Day, as it takes place in a working service shop. 


Do I need to bring my tools to the competition?
All tools needed to participate in the competition will be provided by Mazda. You may bring small personal tools or equipment that you feel you may need. 

Test Lights, Power Probes, Circuit Testers, or anything that resembles the preceding, as well as aftermarket scan tools and/or power tools of any kind are prohibited and will NOT be allowed during the competition.
